The Art of Evelyn Kok Gallery
The Art of Evelyn Kok Gallery, formerly The Gallery of the Purple Fish, re-opened in June 2018
Owned by Christina Shipps, Evelyn's niece, the Gallery offers Kok's original watercolors, pen & inks and an extensive collection of greeting cards using her watercolor images (see Retail Collections Page). The award winning book produced by Christina, "There has to be Magic, the life and art of Evelyn Kok", is also available.
The Gallery also offers marvelous folk art of wooden fishes, whales, driftwood objects including furniture and wonderful folding "fish" tables for your patio and picnics.
In 2020 the gallery will carry a limited number of prints of several of Evelyn's paintings.
Come and enjoy this unique seaside gallery, an iconic Maine location right on Stonington Harbor.
- Gallery Operating Hours -
The gallery will open June 29th for the 2022 season.
The gallery was built in 1907 and remains almost entirely in it's original condition, meaning it is not insulated or heated. Therefore I open when it warms up in June and close in September when selling art becomes a health risk! Hours are 10am until 5:30pm Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday). 23 Main St. Stonington ME 04681
